Description
The sleek and slim Suunto 9 Peak GPS Sports Smartwatch is designed to stand up to intense exercise and extreme outdoor adventures. With the Suunto 9 Peak, battery life is less of a concern than with other sport watches. With four different intelligent battery modes and FusedTrack technology, the Suunto 9 Peak can last from 25 to 170 hours with GPS tracking turned on. FusedTrack is designed to increase track and distance accuracy, while lowering GPS power usage, making it ideal for activities such as long-distance running.
The Suunto 9 Peak excels in the outdoors, featuring water resistance up to 328' and a built-in barometer that can provide a host of weather-related information. You get sea level pressure, temperature, altitude, and even an incoming storm alarm. As it withstands the elements, the Suunto 9 Peak tracks and monitors your progress. It can measure a myriad of data points, such as your heart rate, blood oxygen level, speed, distance, steps, calories, and much more. When paired with your Bluetooth-compatible mobile device, the Suunto 9 Peak can display call and text notifications, as well as sync
Four Intelligent Battery Modes
The Suunto 9 Peak features four pre-defined intelligent battery modes: Performance, Endurance, Ultra, and Tour. Depending on which mode you select, you can get anywhere from 25 to 170 hours of battery life (software update may be necessary). The actual battery life varies depending on usage, conditions, and mode selected.
If you enable the Ultra battery mode it will increase battery life but deactivate wrist heart rate tracking. Tour battery mode gives you the longest battery life, but with lower GPS quality. In Endurance battery mode, battery life is 40 hours with wrist heart rate and 50 hours with an optional HR belt. Touch is disabled during exercise, but you can activate it in your custom mode.

Climbing
Track your effort while hiking or climbing, whether that's hiking up a mountain, rock climbing, or just running up stairs. With the Red Bull X-Alps feature, when outside you can track your vertical speed, letting you see, feel & hear how fast you're climbing. Metrics can be viewed after your climb on the Suunto app.
Sprint
Supporting both cycling and running, the Sprint feature automatically tracks various metrics of sprints, such as the number, distance, and time of each interval during a training session. Each sprint is marked by the changes in pace or cycling power, and they can be viewed on the Suunto app.
TrainingPeaks
- TrainingPeaks is designed to help you understand your level of effort and training stress in real time while running or cycling. The different TrainingPeaks modes are:
- TrainingPeaks with Cycling Power: Normalised Power (NP), Training Stress Score (TSS) and Intensity Factor (IF)
- TrainingPeaks with Running Pace: Intensity Factor (IF), Running Training Stress Score (rTSS) and Normalised Graded Pace (NGP)
- TrainingPeaks with Heart Rate: Heart Rate Training Stress Score (hrTSS)
Safe
The Safe feature gives you quick access to essential location information, such as your GPS coordinates. It's a useful feature if you need to radio for help, getting back to your car or base camp, or to share it with a friend.
Strava Relative Effort
With real-time relative effort tracking, you can see exactly how much goes into your activities. You get personalised measurements based on heart rate zones, allowing you to adapt your effort as needed. These measurements can be synced with Strava and Strava Summit. With Strava Summit, you can go deeper into your data to see how much overall progress you made, where you are in your training cycle, and whether you are peaking, maintaining, or recovering.
